Members of Metahub BE, UK and CH spent a week in residence at a studio in Brussels to develop concepts and methods in preparation for Brussels Nuit Blanche 2012 this October. The session culminated in a public viewing, which you can see a time lapse of here.
Nuit Blanche Brussels
Nuit Blanche (which means “sleepless night” or “white night” in French), is a cultural event that is both artistic and popular. This 9th edition of the event in Brussels aims at (re)discovering or (re)conquering this urban environment from a new perspective.
It is a night to get together, to share unusual and creative aspects of the contemporary creative scene in a warm and festive atmosphere that encourages discovery and wonder.
The Metahub will present an interactive audio-visual installation that encourages the public to share their own media content (videos, photos and sounds) via their smart-phones and engage in real-time interactions using social-network platforms.
An international team of artists (BE,CH,UK) from the Metahub Association explore how we use todays technology to share information, experiences and emotions; and how these new modes of communication are pushing the boundaries of how we interact in a digital social environment. Furthermore, how we can apply these ideas in multi-disciplinary artistic collaboration.
